Thematic Development Projects
The outputs from the first round of Thematic Development Projects are now available to download.
These publications present the main findings and key learning points from eight of the projects. By including any useful tools or templates used, the publications will have practical value for all other providers.

Sector coaching
WCS is now booking for sector coaching support.
Coaching offers direct and bespoke support from a known and experienced practitioner from within the sector. It is available in a number of employer engagement topics and specifically on Apprenticeship delivery.

There are many excellent opportunities to get involved right now, especially around Apprenticeship provision.
We are also looking for providers who may be interested in receiving sector coach support.

WCS needs you as a sector coach
WCS is looking for senior-level representatives from providers with an excellent track record in employer-responsiveness or delivering Apprenticeships to provide direct coaching support to other providers.
Successful applicants will be given all the necessary tools to become an effective mentor and your organisation will be reimbursed for your time.

Aspiring Pathfinders Case Studies
WCS has worked with five Aspiring Pathfinders to produce case studies which demonstrate good practice in the development and implementation of business innovation services for employers in FE.
The Aspiring Pathfinders consist of 18 consortia who all applied for Innovation Pathfinder project funds. Although they were unsuccessful in receiving the funds the next tier of applicants are these Aspiring Pathfinders who were very seriously considered applicants who were ranked against key criteria along with all of the 133 applications received. The Aspiring Pathfinders were all provided with consultancy support to further develop their propositions and develop these case studies.

Final few places still available for Thematic Development Project funding
While the main application deadline for the Thematic Development Project grant is now closed, we do still have limited places available in four key themed areas.
Are you able to demonstrate interesting or effective practice in one of these four areas of employer responsive provision, and are prepared to develop and improve this work further?
If so, then the World Class Skills programme would love you to get involved in a Thematic Development Project.In return, we will offer you plenty of practical support and guidance plus a grant of £5,000.

The application deadline for the thematic development projects has now passed. Thank you to all who applied.
We are aiming to respond to applications by the end of August.
The projects are aimed at leading edge providers that have demonstrated interesting or effective practice in any of the project areas listed, and are prepared to commit to improve and develop this work further with us.
The deadline for applications was Friday 31st July.

Event packs are now available
To supplement the WCS programme of seminars and workshops accompanying event packs have been developed and are now available for download.
Event packs act as records of the day and introduce the topic areas and activities which are discussed and worked through in depth at each of the workshops / seminars. They provide an overview of the subject area and are useful records of the events.
