Supporting TQS
The Training Quality Standard
The Training Quality Standard (TQS) is an assessment framework designed to recognise and celebrate the leading organisations delivering training and development solutions to employers. The Standard has been created by the Learning and Skills Council to develop a new higher standard for the certification of training providers, including those previously recognised as Centres of Vocational Excellence.
The TQS has been developed to help employers by creating a quality mark to highlight providers that work to a high standard of provision for employers. Importantly it also serves as a framework by which providers can assess themselves and the service that they offer to employers right across their organisation.
Application for the Training Quality Standard will help your organisation by:
- giving a structure and an opportunity to think about your strategy, approaches, and results in delivering training and development solutions to employers;
- offering a robust, independent view of your achievements in terms of quality, capability and performance
Where successful, certification for the Training Quality Standard will help your organisation by:
- demonstrating to new customers your competence in delivering training and development solutions;
- demonstrating your responsiveness and expertise within the training sector;
- demonstrating your progression, achievement, and commitment to continuous improvement to your staff and other stakeholders.
The TQS is split into two sections;
- Part A is an award for the whole provider for responding to the needs of employers as individual customers, and can be gained alone
- Part B is an award for developing and deploying products to address particular sector needs, and can only be gained in conjunction with Part A
How does applying work?
To achieve the Standard, providers must first complete a self-assessment application form, which will be scored by an assessor. The assessor will then perform a verification visit, deciding a final score against the assessment framework. This score will be used to assess whether you receive the TQS certificate.
